Update on Raju & I: One More Award!!
In August, ASIFA San Francisco invited "Indian animation along with its promotion of independent short films, student and TV films, to be followed by the ASIFA East international animated film awards (where a prize will be awarded by the audience)"
International Animated Film Association, San Francisco Chapter:

Romel Dias of Animagic India said, "Raju & I is aimed at creating an awareness about social conditions and deals with issues faced by underprivileged children, as seen from the eyes of a 12-year-old city boy." The firm spent 2 years making this powerful 30 minute short about Children's Rights.

Well, it's no surprise that Raju & I was voted the best film. By critics and by popular vote!!

Gayatri wrote to say:
Karl Cohen, the president of ASIFA's SF chapter in a letter wrote that they were quite amazed with the quality of work that was produced in India. "Raju & I," he said, "will remain in our hearts for a very long time to come. The film is very powerful and breathes India in every frame."

The SF chapter were so impressed that they have also incorporated a re-screening of the Indian films in their Animation Day Celebrations

So with all this I feel that though we won 7 international awards, to be recognised by the animation fraternity internationally is truly most fullfilling.

See pictures of Gayatri and Chetan at the International Animation Day Celebrations.

I am so proud!! And I really had nothing to do with the project - I just love these guys, that's all!!
